Mercer Island School District recognized by Forbes magazine | Community Spirit

The April 6, 2010 edition of Forbes.com includes Mercer Island on a list of the 25 best communities in the country for a high quality education and a great home.

Working with GreatSchools, the magazine analyzed 17,377 cities and towns from 49 states and the District of Columbia, looking at 2009 median home price and population data, as well as standardized test scores and the most recent National Assessment for Educational Progress data. According to Bill Jackson, founder and chief executive of GreatSchools, “Finding a great place to live and an excellent school for your kids are two of the biggest decisions a family will ever make.”

GreatSchools also rates Mercer Island among the top ten cities offering families the best public schools in small U.S cities throughout the country.
